More Green Jobs on the Horizon

In a recent Democratic Radio Address, President Elect Barack Obama announced that his economic team is developing an Economic Recovery Plan that will create 2.5 million jobs by January 2011. The plan will

put people back to work rebuilding our crumbling roads and bridges, modernizing schools that are failing our children, and building wind farms and solar panels; fuel-efficient cars and the alternative energy technologies that can free us from our dependence on foreign oil and keep our economy competitive in the years ahead.

Obama's commitment will help green jobs continue to grow. Recent reports suggest green jobs are on the rise. In California, it is reported that the green job sector is booming. The alternative energy industry, and solar in particular, has exploded in California, resulting in thousands of new jobs.
