The PICNIC Green Challenge 2008 is underway. The Challenge seeks to "encourage the development of new, innovative, creative and yet commercially viable products and/or services that contribute to an eco-friendly lifestyle, directly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and score highly on convenience, quality and design. " The competition is open to any adult, organization, or business from any country and the idea must not have already been implemented.
The Challenge winner will receive €500,000 in capital (approximately $769,674) from the Dutch Postcode Lottery to implement the idea. The competition closes on July 31, 2008.
