For many colleges and universities, March means Spring Break! So here are some ideas for a green spring break (or for any time of year):
- Find environmentally-friendly options through the Eco-Directory provided by Sustainable Travel International
- Sign up for an eco-adventure at REI Adventures, which offsets 100% all emissions generated by client trips
- Stay in eco-friendly lodging
- Choose an eco-trip (even American Eagle Outfitters has gotten in on spring break eco-travel)
- Choose to offset your emissions when you purchase tickets through travel sites like Expedia or Travelocity or through the airlines (Continental, Delta, Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, and others)
- Create your own alternative spring break by staying home and volunteering to make a difference
- Volunteer or mentor at the any of the growing number of kids' "green" day camps
